Waubay is a small farming town in northeastern South Dakota, population 337, sitting on the western shore of Waubay Lake. Highway 12 runs right through town, connecting to Watertown (35 miles southeast) and Aberdeen (45 miles west). The area features rolling prairie dotted with glacial lakes, experiencing typical Great Plains weather with cold winters and warm summers. The town still has one of South Dakota's original grain elevators from the early 1900s standing against the prairie sky.
