Watchung is a small hilltop borough in central New Jersey, about 30 miles from NYC via I-78 west to Exit 41. The town of 6,500 sits in Somerset County's rolling terrain, connected by Routes 22, 202, and 206 for regional travel. The Watchung Reservation protects 2,000 acres of the original Watchung Mountain ridge right within the borough limits.
