Watauga offers easy access to the Dallas-Fort Worth area from its spot along Interstate 820 and Highway 377 in northeast Tarrant County. The city connects quickly to Fort Worth's downtown via I-820 south, while Highway 377 provides routes to regional airports including Alliance Airport just 10 miles north. DFW International Airport sits about 20 miles southeast through the I-820 corridor. The community of 23,000 grew around its historic schoolhouse from 1895, now the Watauga Community Center.
