Waskom is a small East Texas town right off Interstate 20, eight miles from Louisiana. It's mainly a pit stop for travelers crossing state lines, with easy access to Marshall (25 miles west) and Shreveport (20 miles east). The town sits in pine forest country with a humid subtropical climate. One of the few active railroad depots on the old Texas and Pacific line still sees daily freight trains rolling through.
