Washington is a tiny Nebraska town of about 200 people, sitting 20 miles northwest of Omaha on Highway 30. Most folks drive through on the historic route between Blair and Fremont, or take quick trips to Blair for errands. The rolling farmland and Elkhorn River make for pleasant countryside driving. The old 1869 Union Pacific depot still stands as the town's community center.
