Washington, the Daviess County seat in southwestern Indiana, sits along US 50 about 120 miles southwest of Indianapolis. The town of 12,400 connects via State Road 57 north-south and lies 25 miles east of Vincennes. Most visitors arrive from I-69 to the east or US 41 from Evansville. The 1888 courthouse with its hourly chiming clock tower dominates the historic square downtown.
