Washington, Georgia sits about 100 miles east of Atlanta along the I-20 corridor in Wilkes County. Take I-20 East to Exit 148, then GA-44 north for 10 miles to reach this small town of 3,680 residents. Regional routes include US-78 from Augusta and US-378 running east-west through town. It's the first city in America named after George Washington, incorporated in 1780.
