Warrensburg is a college town about 50 miles southeast of Kansas City on US Highway 50, home to the University of Central Missouri and adjacent to Whiteman Air Force Base. The main routes are US 50 east-west and Missouri Route 13 north-south, with Highway 13 connecting to I-70 near Higginsville. The Old Drum statue downtown honors the dog whose 1870s court case coined "man's best friend."
