Ware Shoals is a small Piedmont mill town on the Saluda River, about 20 miles northwest of Greenwood via Highway 25. Take Exit 54 from I-26 at Clinton, then Highway 56 west for 15 miles. The town centers around the historic red brick textile mill complex that operated for over a century along the natural river shoals.
