Wapello is a small Iowa River town in Louisa County, about 20 miles from Muscatine via Highway 61. Most traffic uses Highway 61 north-south or Highway 92 east toward I-280 and the Quad Cities. The 1904 opera house downtown still hosts live theater performances.
