Walkerton is a small city in north-central Indiana, about 20 miles south of Michigan. US Route 6 runs east-west through town, connecting to Plymouth (25 miles) and LaPorte (20 miles), while State Road 23 heads north to South Bend (15 miles). Most traffic consists of local commuters using these same routes for daily trips to nearby employment centers. The restored 1900s Walkerton Depot now serves as a community museum highlighting the town's railroad history.
