Walhalla sits five miles from the Canadian border in northeastern North Dakota's farm country. Most visitors arrive via US Highway 32 north from Grand Forks, a 65-mile drive through Red River Valley farmland, or take I-29 from Fargo then continue north. The town of 865 serves cross-border travelers and features the Pembina County Museum in an 1882 courthouse.
