Waldron, the Scott County seat, sits in Arkansas's river valley between Fort Smith and the Ouachita Mountains. Highway 71 runs north-south through town, while Highway 80 provides the main east-west route. Most visitors arrive via Interstate 40, either through Ozark and Highway 23 or from Alma on Highway 71. The 1914 red brick courthouse anchors the historic town square and remains the heart of county government.
