Waldport sits where the Alsea River meets the Pacific on Oregon's central coast, accessible via US Highway 101. Most visitors drive from Portland using Highway 18 through the Coast Range, about 100 miles and two hours. The town experiences mild coastal weather with frequent morning fog and cool summers. The striking Alsea Bay Bridge, a 2,400-foot concrete arch completed in 1991, is one of the Oregon coast's most photographed landmarks.
