Walden is a small Tennessee city of about 1,800 people located 15 miles northeast of Chattanooga via I-75 Exit 4. Highway 27 runs through town, connecting to Soddy-Daisy and downtown Chattanooga. The community sits in the Tennessee River valley where the Cumberland Plateau begins its descent. Incorporated in 1969, Walden is one of Tennessee's newer municipalities, created to maintain local control during suburban expansion along the I-75 corridor.
