Wakeman is a small farming community in north-central Ohio with about 1,100 residents. State Route 60 runs north-south through town, connecting to Norwalk 12 miles south and Lake Erie to the north, while US Route 20 provides east-west access to Oberlin and beyond. The village sits amid rolling farmland between Cleveland and Toledo, with I-80 about 20 miles south for longer trips. A working grain elevator still operates alongside the railroad tracks downtown.
