Wainwright is a small Oklahoma community about 15 miles southeast of Muskogee in rolling hill country. Most visitors arrive via US Highway 69 from Muskogee, connecting from Interstate 40. The nearest airport is Muskogee-Davis Regional, about 20 miles northwest. This tiny town of just over 100 residents maintains its rural character, anchored by the historic Wainwright Cemetery from the early 1900s.
