Wagon Mound is a small town of 550 people along US Highway 25 in northeastern New Mexico's high plains. Located about 50 miles southeast of Las Vegas, NM, it's easily reached via Interstate 25 or US 25 from either direction. The town sits at 6,200 feet elevation and is named for a distinctive butte that resembles a covered wagon from a distance.
