Wagener is a small South Carolina town of about 1,200 people, located 30 miles northeast of Augusta via Highway 302 to Interstate 20. The rural community sits in rolling pine country with easy access to both Columbia and Augusta within an hour's drive. Most visitors arrive from I-20, while locals use Highway 302 for daily trips to Aiken. The town still operates one of the state's last manually controlled railroad crossings.
