Von Ormy is a small city of about 1,100 people located 20 miles southwest of San Antonio along Interstate 35. Take I-35 south from San Antonio and exit at Cassin Road or Kinney Road to reach the city center. Highway 16 connects from the northwest, while Highway 1604 provides access from the east. The city sits near Lackland Air Force Base and serves as a gateway to the Hill Country and Mexican border routes. Von Ormy is notable for having one of Texas's few municipal bullfighting arenas from the early 1900s.
