Volin is a tiny farming town of 139 people in southeastern South Dakota's Yankton County. Drive north from Yankton on US Highway 81 for about 15 miles, then west on county roads. Most visitors come from Sioux Falls via I-29 south to Yankton. The flat prairie landscape is dominated by corn and soybean fields. Chan Gurney Municipal Airport sits just southeast of town, serving the greater Yankton area.
