Volga is a small South Dakota city of 2,400 people in Brookings County, reached via US Highway 14 from Interstate 29. Most visitors drive from Sioux Falls (about 50 miles southeast), while locals make the short 8-mile trip to Brookings regularly. The historic Volga Opera House from 1914 anchors downtown and still hosts live theater.
