Virginia is a small farming town in west-central Illinois, about 30 miles northwest of Springfield via Route 78. Most visitors arrive from I-72 at Arenzville or take the scenic River Road (Route 100) along the Illinois River. The surrounding area is classic Midwest farmland with hot summers and snowy winters. The town's 1904 Carnegie library still operates with its original oak interior intact.
