Virgil is a tiny Kansas community of just 23 people in Greenwood County's rolling prairie. Highway 99 runs north-south through town, connecting to the broader road network. Most visitors come from Wichita, about 60 miles southwest, or other regional centers. The surrounding Flint Hills represent some of America's last remaining tallgrass prairie. Despite its small size, Virgil still operates its own post office.
