Vian is a small eastern Oklahoma town of 1,400 people along US Highway 64, about an hour southeast of Tulsa via I-40. The area features rolling hills and river valley terrain with a humid subtropical climate. Highway 64 connects east to Sallisaw and west to Muskogee, while Highway 10 runs north-south through town. Most visitors come for nearby Lake Tenkiller recreation or Cherokee Nation sites. The town hosts an annual Huckleberry Festival celebrating the wild berries that grow in the surrounding Cookson Hills.
