Verona is a small residential city in northeastern Mississippi, just 10 miles south of Tupelo via US Highway 45. Most visitors arrive on this main north-south route, either from Interstate 22 near Tupelo or continuing from points south. The nearby Tupelo Regional Airport is about 15 miles northeast for air travelers. The town began as a railroad shipping point, and its early 1900s Mobile and Ohio Railroad depot still stands as a reminder of its timber and agricultural heritage.
