Vernon Center is a small farming town in south-central Minnesota, about 12 miles southwest of Mankato via Highway 109. Most visitors come from Mankato or take Highway 14 to Highway 109 south through agricultural country. The classic grain elevator dominates the skyline and serves as a landmark visible for miles across the prairie.
