Vermillion is a college town in southeastern South Dakota, home to the University of South Dakota along the Missouri River. Highway 50 runs east-west through town, connecting to Interstate 29 about 25 miles east. It's an hour from Sioux Falls and 40 minutes from Sioux City, Iowa. The National Music Museum on campus holds one of the world's largest collections of musical instruments.
