Verdon is a tiny South Dakota prairie community of just four residents, sitting along US Highway 12 about 15 miles west of Aberdeen in Brown County. The settlement serves agricultural areas amid rolling wheat fields and grasslands. Most visitors pass through on US 12, which connects to Interstate 29 near Watertown for longer trips across the state. Despite its minimal population, Verdon still maintains its own post office.
