Verden is a farming town of 441 people in south-central Oklahoma, reached via Highway 9 about 25 miles southwest of Chickasha. Most visitors drive an hour from Oklahoma City via I-44 and Highway 9. The town sits in rolling prairie country with wheat fields and cattle ranches. Verden hosts an annual Wheat Festival each June featuring vintage farming equipment and celebrating the community's agricultural heritage.
