Venus is a small Texas city about 30 miles southwest of Dallas-Fort Worth, accessible via US Highway 287 from either direction. Most visitors arrive from the DFW area using I-35E south to US 287 south, while State Highway 664 provides east-west connections to neighboring Johnson County towns. The city's unique claim to fame is its combination city hall, library, and museum housed in a beautifully restored 1920s school building with original hardwood floors.
