Ventura is a small farming town of 600 people in New Mexico's Luna County, about 15 miles northeast of Deming via State Road 26. The community sits in high desert country at 4,300 feet elevation, surrounded by irrigated fields and rangeland. Most visitors arrive from Deming or Las Cruces via Interstate 10, then take the straight shot east on SR-26. The town's old concrete railroad water tower still stands as a reminder of its early railroad days.
