Ventura is a small farming town in north-central Iowa, sitting along Highway 18 about 15 miles west of Mason City. Most visitors drive in from Mason City Municipal Airport or connect via Highway 69 to Interstate 35. The town sits in typical Iowa farmland with a continental climate of hot summers and cold winters. Ventura's claim to fame is its location on the former Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad line, now converted to a recreational trail.
