Venango is a farming community of 182 people in southwestern Nebraska's Perkins County. Highway 61 runs north-south through town, connecting to Grant 12 miles north and continuing toward Colorado. Most visitors arrive via Highway 23 through Grant or take Highway 61 south from Interstate 80 near Big Springs. The town's grain elevator serves as a prominent landmark visible across the surrounding wheat fields and rangeland.
