Varna is a small farming community in north-central Illinois, about 15 miles southwest of LaSalle-Peru along Route 18. From Chicago, take I-80 west to the Route 18 exit near LaSalle, then head west for 12 miles. The town sits in Marshall County's corn and soybean country near the Illinois River valley. Varna's claim to fame is its location along the historic Illinois and Michigan Canal corridor.
