Vandergrift is a small Pennsylvania city of about 5,000 people located 35 miles northeast of Pittsburgh along the Kiskiminetas River. Reach it via Route 66 from the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Exit 57 to Route 981 north) or Route 28. The town was one of America's first planned industrial communities, designed in 1895 by the same Olmsted Brothers firm that created Central Park.
