Vance is a tiny South Carolina town of 166 people in rural Orangeburg County, reached via State Route 4 about 45 minutes from Columbia. Most visitors arrive by taking I-26 to Exit 145 near St. Matthews, then driving south through farmland and pine forests. The town still has its original railroad depot from when trains connected Charleston to Columbia.
