Valparaiso is a small Gulf Coast city in Florida's Panhandle, home to about 5,000 residents near several military bases. Take I-85 to State Road 85 south, or use US-331 for north-south travel and SR-20 for east-west connections to Niceville and Freeport. Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport is 15 miles southeast. The Turkey Creek Nature Preserve has a mile-long boardwalk through cypress swamps ending at a bay overlook tower.
