Valeria is a tiny farming community of 43 people in Jasper County, about 30 miles northeast of Des Moines. Take I-80 to Exit 155 near Newton, then Highway 14 north to county roads. Most visitors are locals heading to Newton for services or Des Moines for shopping. The town's 1895 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a piece of Iowa's rural heritage.
