Urbancrest is a small Franklin County city of 1,240 people located southwest of Columbus. Drivers reach it via State Route 104 (Harrisburg Pike) from Interstate 270, about 20 miles from downtown Columbus. The community sits near Rickenbacker International Airport and serves as a quiet residential area with easy highway access. The volunteer fire department still uses an old-fashioned fire bell mounted on a downtown tower to call firefighters.
