Urbana is a small Iowa farming town of 1,600 people in Benton County, about 25 miles from Cedar Rapids via Highway 150. The route from Iowa City takes Highway 218 north to Highway 150 west, roughly 35 miles through rolling agricultural land. The town sits amid corn and soybean fields typical of eastern Iowa's continental climate region. The 1904 Urbana Opera House on Main Street still hosts community theater productions.
