Upland is a small college town in east-central Indiana, about an hour north of Indianapolis via I-69 and State Road 22. The community centers around Taylor University, a Christian liberal arts school with 2,000 students that's been here since 1893. It's surrounded by typical Midwest farmland with corn and soybean fields stretching in all directions.
