Universal is a tiny farming town in western Indiana near the Illinois border, sitting along State Road 63 about 20 miles north of Terre Haute. Most traffic involves locals heading south to Terre Haute via SR-63 for shopping and work, or connecting to I-70 for longer trips to Indianapolis or St. Louis. The post office and volunteer fire department share the same small building.
