Uniontown is a small county seat in Alabama's Black Belt, about 40 miles southwest of Selma via US Highway 80. The town of 1,800 sits on rolling prairie land where cotton once dominated the landscape. Most visitors connect through Selma or take State Route 61 north to Greensboro. The 1856 Greek Revival courthouse remains the town's centerpiece and one of Alabama's oldest continuously operating courthouses.
