Union is a small Montgomery County city of 7,000 people located along Interstate 70 between Dayton and the Indiana border. I-70 provides the main east-west route, while State Route 49 runs north-south through town. Most traffic consists of daily commuters heading to Dayton or Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, plus cross-country travelers on I-70. The city hosts an annual Honey Festival each September celebrating its beekeeping heritage.
