Union Bridge is a small Carroll County town of about 1,000 people, sitting 50 miles northwest of Baltimore near the Pennsylvania line. Take I-695 to I-795 north, then Route 140 west through Westminster to reach it from Baltimore, or I-270 to Frederick then Route 26 west from DC. The town sits among rolling farmland where several county roads meet, named for the historic stone railway bridge that still spans Big Pipe Creek from the 1850s.
