Underwood is a farming town of 700 people in central North Dakota, about 45 miles northwest of Bismarck on US Highway 83. The highway connects it to the state capital and continues north toward Canada. State Highway 200 provides east-west access through town. The grain elevator dominates the skyline and can be seen for miles across the surrounding wheat fields.
