Underwood is a farming town of 900 people in western Iowa, about 20 miles northeast of Council Bluffs on Highway 34. Most visitors arrive via Highway 34 from Interstate 680 or take the scenic route from Interstate 35 near Osceola. The restored 1920s grain elevator still operates and dominates the skyline across miles of prairie farmland.
