Ulysses is a farming town of 190 people in Butler County, reached via Highway 92 about 25 miles northwest of Columbus. The area features typical Nebraska prairie with corn and soybean fields under a continental climate. Most visitors arrive from Columbus after connecting from Interstate 80 or Highway 30, while locals make short trips to David City for services. The town operates one of Nebraska's smallest post offices.
