Turon is a small Kansas farming town of 334 people, located 45 miles northwest of Hutchinson on Highway 96. Visitors typically arrive from Hutchinson or continue west toward Macksville and Great Bend. The area experiences typical Great Plains weather with hot summers and cold winters. The town's vintage grain elevator still operates during harvest season.
